A typical smoothie will often be made up of dairy be it milk or yogurt, fruit, and some ice. Frankly, that combination is a no-brainer and not to mention a snooze-fest. Why not throw in some greens, replace the yogurt with a non-dairy milk like almond or coconut, supercharge it with the good stuff like chia seeds or protein powder to fuel you for the next couple of hours, and lastly, because we aren’t all saints, sweeten it with maple syrup or chopped up dates? Seriously, who wouldn’t drink that?




    1 cup unpacked spinach
    1 1/2 tsps chia seeds
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    Pinch of cinnamon
    1 frozen banana, slightly thawed
    1/2 cup non-dairy milk
    1/4 cup coconut milk


Step 1

In a blender, toss in your spinach, chia seeds, vanilla extract, cinnamon, followed by the banana (to help weight the mixture down) and your milks, blitz for 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.

Step 2

Sip and enjoy!
